The CounterSpy SDK provides OEMs and ISVs the ability to rapidly build antispyware technology into new and existing security solutions. The SDK delivers full access to CounterSpy’s threat detection engine, as well as real-time antispyware detection (active protection) on client systems (a Gateway SDK for appliances and MSPs is also available). The CounterSpy SDK provides a robust solution that will save you development time and licensing costs.

High performance scanning engine
The CounterSpy SDK utilizes a high speed threat scanning engine that can scan large volumes of information for spyware threats in a short period of time.

Real time protection
The CounterSpy SDK includes Active Protection “monitors” that look for certain software and system changes to PCs. With real-time monitoring, CounterSpy provides the functionality to block many potential hazards in real-time, helping to reduce the chances of users getting a recurring spyware infection.

Virus Intrusion Protection and Remediation Engine (VIPRE)
The CounterSpy SDK now includes our advanced heuristics-based VIPRE engine for broad protection from malware and other blended threats. The VIPRE engine goes above and beyond traditional signature-based anti-virus engines by targeting blended threats and other malware using advanced heuristics and other behavioral-based technologies. VIPRE complements and works together with our CounterSpy Threat Database to provide advanced endpoint security.

Specific code for “resuscitating” spyware
Certain types of spyware use “self-resuscitating” code, which allows the spyware to recreate itself without the user’s knowledge. This type of spyware is extremely difficult (if not impossible) for many spyware scanners to remove. The CounterSpy Scanning Engine includes all-new proprietary code that specifically targets and removes many of these types of spyware. The CounterSpy SDK benefits from multiple sources for its spyware definition updates, making it the premier antispyware solution to protect end-users and networks from spyware. Dedicated Research Team - Sunbelt Software Threat Research Center
Sunbelt Software’s Threat Research Center specializes in the discovery and analysis of dangerous vulnerabilities (i.e., security holes, bugs, maligned features or combination of operations) that could be exploited for Internet and email attacks. The research team actively researches new spyware outbreaks, creating and testing new spyware definitions on a constant basis.

ThreatNet™
ThreatNet is Sunbelt’s user community that opts-in to anonymously send new information about possible spyware to our Threat Research Center.

Sunbelt CWSandbox
Sunbelt CWSandbox leverages unique technology for the automatic behavior analysis of malware. CWSandbox collects information automatically from different inputs and provides fast and autonomous analysis of large volumes of malware samples to populate the database with new malware threats.
